OK. Big report on the street soccer competition at Marine Terrace. We were drawn into Group A and we had to face some strong teams. The most unsettling thing was not about facing the tough guys, but getting used to hostile conditions of opposition teams who engaged in body advantages. The ball was "omg" small and solid man.
First Match - Indian Team called Jawaini Boys. It had Manpreet(former BV) inside. And because of that M*****F*****, I am nursing a wound on my right eye. I took him down though and earned a warning.
Result : Draw. Felt guilty for letting the guy slip past me to score.
Second match - TNet MP or seomthing like that. Saw Khairul, a former TKPS chap who played soccer with us last time. Not too good cause I was dying in the sun. The feeling of guilt doubles as OP had to resurrect us back from 2-0 down.
Result : Draw. Damn screwed up.
Third Match - MP CSC or Yellows. 1 familar face = 1 dangerman. That's why we lost 4-2. Nearly in tears at the end of the match, thinking "I screwed it up"
Result : Lost. Demoralised.
Fourth Match - Black Shirts. This was it. Lost = Home. Win = Semi Finals cause the other teams screwed up. Do or Die. This time, I was put as DC, not FC like the previous 3 matches. Ironically, the only goal of the game came from Mark Zheng. Long range, keeper dived a little late and it was 1-0. Can you imagine what it meant to me? I just bellowed my "YES! DAMN IT YES! F*** IT!!" on the court.
Result : Win. Needed the JBoys to win Khairul's team. They did, after losing all their games, winnin their last and sending us through.
Semi Final - NYP Jaguares. They had a Solskjaer and twon super Indian fellows. We played for the draw and got it. Penalty shootout and I missed the sudden death. Damn.
So tomorrow it's against The Yellow Boys again. My legs can hardly move. But I want my revenge. Even if its 3rd/4th placing.
For now, a little relaxation before studying. Let's go man
=) Cheers to the goal that got us through. Like OP said "You must wait till the last game before scoring".
Carrying your name, close to me.
